After
gaining her BA Honours degree in illustration, Lorraine spent
ten successful years freelancing as a commercial artist
and illustrator.
During this time she fulfilled
commissions for many prestigious clients including British
Gas, Castrol, Commercial Union and The Derbyshire Building
Society, as well as producing work for a whole range of magazine
and greeting card publishers. However, in 2004 Lorraine decided
to devote herself fully to painting. Her decision was rewarded
later that year when her talent won her a place in the final
of the De Montfort New Artist Competition.
Her prize was a chance to showcase her work on her own stand
at the Autumn Fair, where she was spotted by a top artists'
agent and awarded a contract.
Comfortable working in most media,
including oils, watercolours and pastels, her paintings have
been published as prints both in Europe and the United States.
Lorraine now lives in the South of France with her photographer
husband, Bruce and their two children (please
